Mujeres en resiliencia

In 2024, the Institute for Planning and Development Management of the Metropolitan Area of Guadalajara (IMEPLAN) and Resilient Cities Network (R-Cities) organized the first edition of “Women in Resilience” to recognize actions that integrate a gender perspective in efforts to strengthen community resilience in cities across Latin America and the Caribbean.

Following the positive reception of the first edition, a second edition with a broader geographical scope has been launched, thus inviting cities from all over the world to participate.

As part of the European project MetroResilience Guadalajara, the second edition of the “Women in Resilience” call for proposals was opened on March 17th. It is led by IMEPLAN and the Barcelona Metropolitan Area (AMB), with the collaboration of R-Cities, the Ibero-American Center for Strategic Urban Development (CIDEU), and the World Association of Major Metropolises (Metropolis).

The highest-rated proposal will be awarded:

  • International promotion: Promotion of the selected project or public policy through the official channels and platforms of the participating city networks.
  • Access to specialized training: Access to virtual workshops and training for two people with a technical profile, based on the available offerings from the participating city networks.
  • Compendium of best practices: The ten highest-rated proposals will be included in a digital publication compiling experiences from the first and second editions.
  • Visit to the AMB: Two representatives of the winning proposal will have the opportunity to participate in a three-day technical exchange, sharing projects and best practices on metropolitan resilience with a gender perspective at the AMB. Travel and accommodation expenses will be covered.

The call for proposals is open until April 4, 2025.
