Description
As every year, this new edition of the EMA forum will gather high political representatives from the main European metropolises to discuss about metropolitan challenges.
Programme
"Well-being from a metropolitan perspective" will be the main idea of the program - currently under development - which will include, in addition to field visits and discussions, high-level sessions, in which participants will delve into the question of what kind of society we want to be and what is necessary for sustainable economic development, livelihood security and a healthy living environment, using inspiring, practical and scalable examples. The results will be presented to the European Commission in the form of an EMA policy statement.

Well-being from a metropolitan perspective
The EMA conference focuses on well-being from a metropolitan perspective, balancing economy, social well-being and ecology with each other, both here and now, as well as in the future and elsewhere in the world (broad prosperity). The welfare perspective of broad prosperity can help the European Union and urban regions in setting priorities and making balanced choices for the future.
Against a backdrop of major challenges in areas such as housing, environment, energy, labour, healthcare, and education, in which the call to prioritise well-being is growing louder, the meeting offers a unique opportunity for European metropolises to make a collective voice heard and advocate for the interests of metropolitan regions.

European elections
It is important to highlight that this year’s EMA forum will take place in the aftermath of the European elections, providing an excellent opportunity to present the importance of the metropolitan dimension to the new European institutions.
