EMA 2016 conclusions
Towards a Common European Metropolitan Agenda
This publication presents the conclusions of the EMA forum held in Turin on February, 12th 2016, which brought together the mayors, presidents and political representatives of over 30 European metropolitan areas. EMA 2016 intended specifically to contribute to the EU Urban Agenda from a metropolitan perspective. A political declaration was adopted in Turin, stressing the role that metropolitan cities play in development and social cohesion. This declaration urges the European Union to acknowledge metropolitan cities as strategic partners in the definition and implementation of the EU Urban Agenda and in maximising the impact of European funding.
