The first observatory to measure and compare metropolises from around the world

Presentació de l'observatori

On the 27th of June, Metropolis presented the Metropolitan Observatory with the comparison of more than 50 metropolises from around the world and more than 130 indicators of context and governing, economic development, social cohesion, gender equality, environmental sustainability and quality of life.

The methodology of this Observatory has been created by the London School of Economics, making it the first observatory of its kind that measures and compares metropolises from around the world.

The AMB has been working together with Metropolis, during a year, within an agreement signed by both institutions. Hopefully, the Observatory will be a reference tool for members of the Metropolis network.

The presentation was held at the CIDOB headquarters and included the participation from the Barcelona Institute of Regional and Metropolitan Studies (IERMB) and the Strategic Metropolitan Plan of Barcelona (PEMB).
