Description

In the context of the armed conflict in Syria, the new autonomous local institutions in Northern and Eastern Syria (NES) work to protect and guarantee fundamental human and social rights (such as the right to life, the right to health and well-being, the right to just and fair working conditions), as well as providing basic services to the local population and to the displaced population in the region.

Basic emergency non-food items (blankets, mattresses, kitchen kits, lamps, jerry cans, tarpaulins, mats, etc.) were distributed according to criteria of vulnerability (gender, single-parent families, age, etc.) and in accordance with international standards for the distribution of non-food items.

The project aimed to help 5,000 members of the most vulnerable families in Aleppo Governorate, who people who had left and then returned. It promoted empowerment strategies, aimed particularly at mothers in single-parent families: women played a special leading role.
