The AMB contributed its experience in complex urban management projects to #USU2016

During August, Rotterdam hosted the holding of #USU2016 (3rd edition of Urbact Summer University), at which the AMB Urban Planning Services Department participated as a partner in the Sub>Urban, Reiventing the fringe project, contributing their experience in urban remodelling through the conversion of 20th century neighbourhoods to create a more sustainable and attractive environment.

For three days, 430 participants from 28 European countries in the 20 city networks of the European Urbact III programme worked together to share knowledge and to implement tools for managing complex urban projects from a comprehensive and collaborative perspective. The idea is for these sessions to be used so that participating cities can develop improvement action plans in their cities in the next two years, co-written via local support groups, made up of citizen agents, the administration and other stakeholders.

The Summer University also let cooperation be shared and knowledge exchanged, as well as some of the most innovative urban projects driven forward by the city of Rotterdam.
