From 8th to 13th February, the 10th edition of the World Urban Forum (WUF10) promoted by UN-Habitat, the United Nations' agency for urban and metropolitan issues, took place in Abu Dhabi. On behalf of the AMB, Elisenda Alamany participated in it as member of the Board of Governors and metropolitan councillor.

The AMB took part in WUF10 with the Government of Catalonia, the INCASOL, the Barcelona City Council and  la Barcelona Provincial Council with a stand on the various urban initiatives currently being developed in Catalonia.

Alamany spoke at the Assembly of Local and Regional Governments, took part on behalf of Metropolis in the United Nations Advisory Committee of Local Authorities (UNACLA) and sat in on two round table discussions, in which she presented several of the main metropolitan projects, including the Metropolitan Urban Master Plan (PDU), the low emission zone within Barcelona ring roads (ZBE Rondes de Barcelona) and the IMPSOL housing policy.

During the forum, the AMB met with the director of the UN-Habitat National Urban Policy Programme, Dr Shipra Narag, with whom an agreement was signed to address metropolitan issues. The first activity organised under this agreement will be a European meeting on 20th and 21st April to prepare a report on the Overall State of Metropolises.
