The AMB presents several proposals for innovation in urban mobility

Imatge de la notícia

As a member of the EIT, the AMB has presented five projects of mobility innovation to the first call for proposals. These projects are: regulation of mobility as a service (MaaS), traffic light prioritisation for public transport, smart parking management, nocturnal distribution of goods, and a virtual tool for evaluating the impact of mobility.

It is expected that the decision about which projects will move forward to the next phase will be taken at the end of June.

Innovation in urban mobility

The EIT Urban Mobility is a consortium of cities, businesses and research centres from 15 countries which search for innovative solutions to the major challenges posed by urban mobility. It will have a lifespan of between seven and fifteen years and an expected financial volume that could reach 400 million Euros provided by the European Union and up to 1,200 million provided by members.

The rapid urbanisation process that Europe is experiencing requires investments in innovative urban transport systems. The demand for shared and clean transport solutions is rising in our cities; the EIT Urban Mobility's aim is to guarantee, through innovation, an urban mobility system that is ecological, inclusive, safe and smart.
