Culminating with an art installation of shared reflections on human rights

Thursday, 29 May a travelling art installation from the first cycle of the "We Have Rights, We Weave Liberties", metropolitan program for human rights in the local sphere, was inaugurated in Sant Vicenç dels Horts. The installation will tour the other cities involved in the program during the months of June and July.

The installation re-creates the pathway that we have followed during different phases of the program and gathers the knowledge acquired and the thoughts generated through the work shared by the AMB, metropolitan city councils and the different municipal groups that participated in it.

The AMB Area for International Relations and Cooperation initiated the first metropolitan education program for global citizenship in 2016 in the Barcelona metropolitan area with the purpose of promoting awareness about and the defence of Human Rights from metropolitan municipalities.

The installation was inaugurated by vice-president of the AMB Area for International Relations and Cooperation, Maite Aymerich who put value on the commitment from the local sphere to human rights and specifically to the rights of refugees.

This installation brings closure to the first three year cycle dedicated to the rights of refugees. 11 metropolitan municipalities have participated in this cycle: Begues, Cervelló, El Papiol, La Palma de Cervelló, Molins de Rei, Montcada i Reixac, Sant Adrià de Besòs, Sant Climent de Llobregat, Sant Vicenç dels Horts, Santa Coloma de Cervelló i Torrelles de Llobregat.
