More than 200 people participate in events to raise the external profile of the architecture of the metropolitan public space

The Open Space Connection symposium brought together around 220 people at two events that took place on 4 and 5 May, in which the AMB took part with a selection of 10 architectural projects for the public space.

The two events, organised by the CCP (Cities Connection Project), as part of the Open Space Connection project, consisted first, of the opening of an exhibition at the Barcelona Botanical Garden on 4 May, where the selection of 15 projects by Arc Lémanique were displayed with 15 projects by AMB, and second, a meeting on 5 May to exchange experiences between Swiss and local architects, at the Pavelló Mies van der Rohe.Prior to the opening of the exhibition at the Botanical Garden, the participating architects were welcomed to the AMB offices, and had the opportunity to visit some projects in the metropolitan public space, such as the public space architecture in the River Park

Open Space Connection (Barcelona Metropolitan Area + Métropole Lémanique)

This project was the result of the Cities Connection Project 's desire to raise the external profile of its public space architecture which was designed and executed in the metropolitan area, and to seek professional economic and cultural connections and relationships for local architects.

The aim is to respond to the need for the internationalisation of architectural projects and the demand for models identified in other areas with stronger economies.

All the cities and regions selected in the Open Space Connection project meet a number of specific requirements that promote synergies with Barcelona and its professionals.

Thanks to this project, the city of Barcelona and its metropolitan area raises its external profile, through the architecture of its public space. This model is displayed with a selection of 15 projects undertaken in the last ten years, many of them by AMB.

It was also possible to view and analyse 15 projects in the public space on the perimeter of the Arc Lémanique, which links the cities of Geneva and Sion, via Nyon and Lausanne.
