Kick-off event for the Clearing House project

The AMB is involved in this international project aimed at studying urban forests

From 4-7 September, the city of Bonn hosted the kick-off event for the Clearing House project, a cooperative project between Europe and China on urban forests and nature-based solutions which aims to enhance the resilience of cities facing major environmental, socioeconomic and cultural transitions and challenges.
This project is due to last 4 years, during which time the AMB will take part in the comparative study of urban forest-based solutions, organise several participatory workshops and assess the tools developed in the region. A total of €122,219 have been allocated from the budget, and both the study and action will focus on the Llobregat river.
The Cleaning House project has received funding from the Horizon 2020 research and innovation programme and is led by the European Forest Institute (EFI). In addition to the AMB, other project participants from the metropolitan area include Metropolis and CREAF.
Present at the event in Bonn were all 26 of the project's partners, which include universities, institutes, research centres and international organisations such as IUCN, as well as representatives from the European cities (Brussels, Leipzig-Halle, Krakow and Gelsenkirchen) and Chinese cities (Beijing, Hong Kong-Guangzhou-Shenzhen, Huaibei and Xiamen) in which the case studies will be developed.
