Àrea Metropolitana de Barcelona

A video edited by the AMB summarising the highlights and key messages of the EMA 2015 is available now. The European Metropolitan Authorities seminar on territorial competitiveness and social cohesion was held in Barcelona on 13th of March.

In their speeches, the mayors and presidents of major European metropolises agree in stressing the growing importance of metropolitan regions, and underline the need to share, discuss, and combine efforts to face common challenges. EMA 2015 was a first step of this initiative, that is intended to continue in the coming years and will hold a second edition in 2016 in the city of Turin.

The video also includes a summary of the 10 points of the Political Declaration adopted in Barcelona, expressing the will of metropolitan areas to share experiences, promote joint projects and position papers, and defend their interests in the national, European and international spheres.
