CITYNET visits the AMB

From 20-23 January, a team of representatives from the Secretariat of CityNet a network of metropolitan areas in the Asia Pacific region, visited the AMB to become familiar with several of the metropolitan city councils' projects. The visit was supported by the EU-Korea Climate Action programme.

The delegation was given a first-hand look at the AMB's operations, the work it does in the field of public space, the Metropolitan Housing Consortium's lines of work, the IMPSOL projects and the efforts made in the area of international relations. In addition, they visited social housing projects in Cornellà de Llobregat, Sant Feliu de Llobregat and Sant Boi de Llobregat. They were also taken to a number of municipal facilities, such as the Fontsanta-Fatjó Library in Cornellà, the Turó de la Peira Pavilion and Sant Andreu Market in Barcelona and the waste treatment centre in Sant Just Desvern.

CityNet is Seoul-based network that groups together over 160 cities from the Asia region and focuses its activity on reinforcing and training local governments. The AMB and CityNet are collaborating on various metropolitan initiatives.
