Strengthening relations between the Kurdish Red Crescent and AMB

The purpose of this visit was to strengthen the relations between AMB and the Kurdish Red Crescent, with which AMB has been collaborating since 2017. During the visit, it has been emphasized the lack of international support to face up to the challenges that the Syrian Kurdistan is living and also the misinformation that the world in general is suffering about the situation.

Visits and technical meetings related to the interests and priorities of the Kurdish Red Crescent were carried out, where the delegation could expose and share their experiences and the current context of the Syrian Kurdistan with the technical team of International Cooperation and with the team of the Water Cycle of AMB. On the other hand, the delegation met Mr. Alfred Bosch, Vice President of the International and Cooperation Area, and several meetings with different NGOs and the media were organized.

Projects linked to AMB

AMB collaborates with the Kurdish Red Crescent with two projects. The first one, already finished, "Emergency project in Syrian Kurdistan: Contributing to the exercise of human rights of refugees in the Euphrates region", allowed to deal with the emergency situation of infants and children of fields in Ain Isa and Mistenur, and allowed to distribute baby milk rations for 1,866 infants between 0 and 24 months, and 1,750 pieces of warm clothing for children between 1 and 12 years old.

The second project, which is still underway, "Improvement of the Supply of Drinking Water in Kobani", presented with Mezzaluna Rossa Kurdistan Italia, aims to guarantee the right to the supply of drinking water in the city of Kobane (approx 45,000 people), city currently very damaged after the attacks suffered in 2014 by Daesh and his allies. There are planned actions such as installing two new water pumps, repairing the electrical installation, installing a new pumping station control system, among others.
