Description
Low emissions zones (LEZs) significantly reduce accidents, pollution and other externalities derived from urban traffic. The implementation of low emissions zones will be mandatory under the Law on Climate Change and Energy Transition in Spain in 2023.
This project is related to the F2F course launched in 2021 and scaled in 2022. The objective of the first edition was to provide attendees with the technical knowledge necessary to deploy a LEZ in municipalities near Barcelona, by learning about existing technologies in this field. In 2021, an introductory workshop was held, followed by 3 face-to-face sessions. It was a success for the target audience (municipalities’ technical staff).
Based on the lessons learned from these previous experiences, the third edition is meant to also scale the concept internationally, readapting the course to the Portuguese needs.
