Description

Bicivia is the network of metropolitan bicycle routes that has been defined and designed by the AMB in partnership with the 36 municipalities and government bodies that own the roads.

It aims to provide quick, direct and safe connections in the metropolis, from north to south and east to west.

  • Basic characteristics

The Bicivia network involves a total of 414 km of cycle lanes, divided into a basic network and a secondary network. The basic network consists of 201 kilometres (31% is already in place) and the secondary network of 213 km (20% is already in place). *(These figures do not include the city of Barcelona).

The Bicivia network is made up of nine main cycle corridors: four vertical corridors, which cross the metropolis from north to south, and five horizontal corridors, which cross it from east to west.

The vertical cycle corridors run along the Llobregat and Besòs rivers, with one on each bank of the river. Four of the five horizontal cycle corridors are located on the coast and one is in the Vallès area.
