Imatge de la notícia

The AMB, which is the Secretary General of  Medcities, shall take part in two communication, networking and capitalisation projects: PANACeA (Streamlining Networking and Management efforts in Mediterranean Protected Areas for Enhanced Conservation of Natural and Capital Heritage) and Go-SUMP (Improving Sustainable Urban Mobility Plans & Measures in the Med). These two Medcities projects were approved by the European Commission, and aim to contribute to maintaining biodiversity and natural ecosystems in protected areas and foster low transport emissions to Mediterranean countries.

AMB's function will be to assist in constructing an active community of Mediterranean actors from different fields (research, politics…), carrying out invigoration tasks and conducting networking actions, meetings and a wide range of events.

The two projects are 85% co-funded via the Interreg MED, programme in the scope of horizontal European regional cooperation projects, which are in charge of capitalising projects on a single topic by promoting communications and propagation of their outcomes.

PANACeA

PANACeA aims to contribute to maintaining biodiversity and natural ecosystems, strengthening networking and management of protected areas, through measures that foster joint communication of actors and transfer outcomes beyond the project timeline.

This project is led by the University of Málaga European Topic Centre UMA-ETC (Spain) along with five further partners: Plan Bleu (France), Conference of Peripheral Maritime Regions CPMR (France), Mediterranean Universities Union UniMed (Italy), Regional Environmental Centre-Montenegro REC (Slovenia) and MedCities.

Go-SUMP

The aim of Go-SUMP is to increase the visibility and impact of projects that foster sustainable urban mobility, to contribute to introducing low emission transport measures in Mediterranean, thus collaborating in the improvement of related public policies.

This project is headed by the Málaga City Council CAT-MED Platform (Spain), with five other partners: the Mediterranean Universities Union (UniMed, Italy), the Regional Environmental Centre (REC, Slovenia), Eurocities (Brussels), CODATU (France) and MedCities.
