A hundred metropolitan technicians take part in the training conference on European funding

The Department for International Affairs and Cooperation of the AMB held a training conference on European Union Development Cooperation funds available for the 2014-2020 period, aimed at local technicians and professionals dedicated to this field.

This conference provided those in attendance with a chance to learn about the opportunities for EU funding for development cooperation in detail, in order to generate greater opportunities for the projects of municipalities, organizations, economic and social actors, and other regional agents interested in this field.

The European Union is the international organization that donates the most money to development cooperation. Specifically, the European budget for 2014-2020 allocates more than 60,000 million Euros for work outside of its territory and in different regions of the world, with actions to promote strength and solidarity at all levels.

Alfred Bosch, Vice-President for International Affairs and Cooperation of the AMB, welcomed the hundred attendees and presented the session on European funding to the experts. Mercedes Giovinazzo, Bárbara Llimargas, Anna Calvete, and Francesc Valdivia made their presentations, which ranged from the general framework of the main European programmes, priority areas, and the features of bidding invitations, as well as the elements for the presentation of proposals and the management of grants, though all from a very practical perspective.
