On 12th and 13th November 2018, the conference "Mobility challenges in urban and metropolitan areas" was held in Barcelona organized by two European projects: GO SUMP project from Interreg MED program and SMART MR project from Interreg Europe.

The conference and subsequent technical visits were organized by the AMB and MedCities with the support of the Smart City Expo World Congress

Improving the plans and measures about sustainable urban mobility

The Go Sump project, which represents the MED's Public Transport Community, is targeting the challenges of capitalisation and mainstreaming of 8 different projects' results and solutions for sustainable mobility in the Mediterranean at transnational level.

More than 100 participants from 10 different European projects have participated these days with the main objective of this conference: the exchange, the capitalization and the search for synergies between the two projects with the aim of improving the plans and measures in sustainable urban mobility.

Increasing the visibility and impact of projects that promote sustainable urban mobility, to facilitate the introduction of low-emission transport measures and thus contribute to the improvement of the corresponding public policies.

In this sense, sharing political approaches and recommendations has been very enriching, especially considering goals and activities post-2020.
